Amandine Fournier

Non-permanent Research Engineer (CNRS)

I am interested in bioinformatics and more precisely in comparative genomics and Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) data analysis.

I have acquired more than four years of experience in bioinformatics at the French National Institute for Agricultural Research and at Lyon University Hospital.

I am now working on a project funded by the « Fondation pour la Recherche Médicale » (FRM) and involving both the International Center for Infectiology Research ( and the PRABI-AMSB. This project includes large-scale genome assembly and RNA sequencing analysis of Legionella pneumophila strains that are the causative agents of legionellosis (Legionnaires’ Disease).

The objectives of the project are (i) to characterize the genetic differences among Legionella pneumophila strains with respect to the severity of the associated legionellosis and (ii) to achieve a large-scale study of differential gene expression by RNA-Seq to identify the determinants of pathogenicity at the transcriptomic level.
